Welcome back to Term 3

3 Way Conferences
3 Way Conferences will be held this Wednesday and Thursday for Year 4 - 6 students and Year 1 - 3 students who received a progress report. It is important that your child attends the conference as well.

Walking School Bus
The Walking School Bus will start on Monday 4th August 2014. The route will begin outside the Roskill South Kindergarten and travel along Glass Rd and Albrecht Ave to the school entrance.

Teacher Only Day
The school will be closed for a Teacher Only Day on Monday 25th August as teachers will be involved in professional development on that day.

Incredible Years Parenting Programme
We are able to offer this 14 week course once again. Free childcare will be available at school for the duration of the course. A bright blue notice has been sent home regarding this. If you are interested, please return the notice by Friday 25th July 2014.

Art Festival
In week 8 (starting 8th September), we will be celebrating the visual arts with an Art Festival. All children will produce a piece of artwork this term, which will be then displayed at the festival. The festival launch will take place on the evening of Tuesday 9th September in the school hall.

Road Safety Signs
Auckland Transport have installed flashing 'school zone' signs on Hillsborough Road, before and after our school entrance. The signs are on from 8.25am to 9.00am and 3.00pm to 3.20 pm daily.
Investing in Educational Success
The Governments announcement to invest $359 million dollars more into education earlier this year is currently a hot topic for discussion. 2014 School Production
This year's school production is the 'Wizard of Oz' and will be held over 2 nights in early November (dates to be confirmed). All auditions have been completed and all roles have been cast. Letters will be sent home shortly outlining the rehearsal schedule.
Netball Results
There were no games over the school holidays. First game back will be on the 26th July.
Our school uniform is available from the Warehouse in Mt Roskill - corner of May and Stoddard Rds. Our school is awarded points for purchase of our uniform from the Warehouse. Please quote our name when purchasing our uniform and we receive points that can be redeemed for school resources.

The school gates are open from 2.45pm onwards in the afternoons to enable you to park in the bottom playground. Please use this area to avoid any parking or traffic issues at the school entrance.

School Bell.
The school bell is rung at 8.00am every day. The gate will be closed at 8.00am as well and reopened at 2.45pm.

All children are required to wear a navy blue sunhat, outside in the summer terms (Term 1 and 4). Children without hats will need to sit in the junior shade house during break times and will not be able to participate in outside activities during classroom programmes until they have a hat to wear. Hats can be purchased from the school office for $10.00.

Breakfast in Schools
Children can have breakfast at school every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning between 8am and 8.30am. Please remember that children need to be at school by 8.30am at the latest if they want to eat breakfast.

Wednesday Subway Lunches
Subway envelopes are available from the office and orders are placed at the school office by 9am, Wednesday mornings. Please ensure that the correct amount of money is in the envelope.    
Sausage Sizzle
The Sausage sizzle is every Friday.
Sausages - $1.50 (includes bread, sauce and serviette)
Iceblocks / Icecreams - $1.50

Permission to leave School
If you need to take your child out of school early you must first sign your child out at the office before you collect them from the classroom. Office staff will give you a yellow slip, which needs to be given to the classroom teacher before the child is released.         

Social Worker in School.
Our school social worker, Lynair Bergman, is available to meet with parents at school on Thursdays and Fridays. You can contact her on her mobile 027 225 8924 or visit her at school. Her office is located outside Rooms 3 and 4.

Warehouse Stationery
 Warehouse Stationery has a rewards system for schools. Every time you shop there, quote our school name and then our school gets reward points that we can use to go towards the purchase of class resources and equipment. Feel free to pass on our name to family and friends.

Scooter Zone
A section of the school playground has been designated as a 'Scooter Zone' for students to ride scooters. The scooter zone operates from 12.30 - 1pm every Tuesday and Thursday.
