29th November 2016

End of Year Assembly
Our final school assembly this year will be held at the Waikowhai Intermediate School Hall on Tuesday 20th December, from 10.30am through to 11.45am. Children will walk to and from the intermediate in their classes. School will finish at 12.30pm on the day and children will return to school for final farewells in their classroom.

Christmas Hampers
Hampers will be set up in the school office from this Friday 2nd December. we would greatly appreciate any tinned and dried food items. The hampers will be distributed to the families in the local area on Friday 16th December.

School Secretary
We have now appointed our new School Secretary - welcome to Sally Noa, who has three children which attend our school. We are looking forward to working with Sally in the new year.
                                                             
Reports
Reports will be sent home with all Year 4 to 6 students and Year 1 to 3 students are due for a six month anniversary or end of year report on Thursday 15th December.
                           
Punctuality
There are a growing number of students arriving at school late. School starts promptly at 9.00am and students need to be here before the 9.00am bell so they can organise themselves for the day.
                                                                                                                 
Sunhats
In Term One and Term Four, all children are expected to wear a sunhat. Any child not wearing their sunhat will need to sit in shaded areas at morning tea and lunchtime.
Hats can be purchased from the school office - at a cost of $6.00.

Contact Details
It is important that we are able to contact parents/caregivers if your child is sick or injured. If your details have changed, please let the office know, so that we can update our records.

Walking School Bus
The Dominion Rd Extn route starts at 8.30am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. The route begins outside the Roskill South Kindergarten and travels along to Glass Rd (where the first stop is) and the second stop is on the corner of Quona Ave and Albrecht Ave, then onto the school entrance.
                                                                                                                                       
Friends of the School
We have a Friends of the School committee which is a group of parents who help out with fundraising and volunteering at the school. If you are interested in joining, please contact Romana Locke on 021 0231 0796 or pop in and see Julie in the office. Information on FoTs and meeting dates are available here .

We would like to acknowledge the wonderful support we get from Countdown Lynfield. Every day they supply us with the bread that is available to all our community, as well as other grocery items throughout the year.
