Staff News.
We would like to congratulate Mrs Sarah Allen, who has won the Principal's position at Riverhills Primary School in Pakuranga. She will be taking up her new position at the beginning of Term 2.

School Organisation For Terms 2 and 3
With the departure of Mrs Allen at the end of this term, Miss McGrath will take on the role of Acting Deputy Principal until a new appointment is made later on in the year. Mrs Dron will replace Miss McGrath in Room 11 on Thursdays and Fridays.

Community BBQ
Thank you to all the families that came along on Friday night. It was great to see so many of you there. This was our first fundraiser for the Year 5 and 6 camp and we raised $865.00.

Reporting to Parents Meeting
If you would like to understand your child's school report better or you want to know how your child's Individual Learning Pathway Goals are decided, please come along to Room 5 next Wednesday night (25th March) at 7pm.

Property Update
 The contractors responsible have started to prepare and fence off the area where the temporary classrooms are placed. It will take approximately 3 weeks to connect water and power as well as building decking and stairs. The classrooms will be ready for students and teachers at the beginning of Term 2.

Education Review Office Report.
The ERO was on site at the beginning of November 2014, to review the school. The result of this visit was that the school received an excellent review . If you would like to read the report in full, click on the following link:

Breakfast in Schools
Breakfast club will resume Week 2 of Term 1, operating on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Breakfast will be served under the senior school shade house. There will only be weetbix/milk and milk available this term (no hot food or drinks).

School Assemblies
Have now returned to the original time of 2.00pm for the remainder of the term. We have also moved the location to under the Gum Tree outside the library where there is more shade.

Walking School Bus
Don't forget the bus runs every Monday, starting at 8.15am. The route begins outside the Roskill South Kindergarten and travels along to Glass Rd (where the first stop is) and the second stop is on the corner of Quona Ave and Albrecht Ave, then onto the school entrance.
Auckland Transport conduct regular surveys, to understand how important messages are being communicated within the Auckland community. They are currently seeking feedback from our school community on the 'Back to School' campaign which has been run throughout the Auckland region. All information and responses are used for internal research purposes only. Friends of the School
We have a Friends of the School committee which is a group of parents who help out with fundraising and volunteering at the school. Our next meeting is on Wednesday 18th March 2015 , 7.30pm, in the school staffroom. If you are interested in joining, please see Julie in the office.
      
Uniform
Our school uniform is available from the Warehouse in Mt Roskill - corner of May and Stoddard Rds. Our school is awarded points for purchase of our uniform from the Warehouse. Please quote our name when purchasing our uniform and we receive points that can be redeemed for school resources.

Sunhats
All children are required to wear a navy blue sunhat, outside in the summer terms (Term 1 and 4). Children without hats will need to sit in the junior shade house during break times and will not be able to participate in outside activities during classroom programmes until they have a hat to wear. Hats can be purchased from the school office for $10.00.

Wednesday Subway Lunches
Subway envelopes are available from the office and orders are placed at the school office by 9am, Wednesday mornings. Please ensure that the correct amount of money is in the envelope.    
                         
Sausage Sizzle
The Sausage sizzle is every Friday.
Sausages - $1.50 (includes bread, sauce and serviette)
Iceblocks / Icecreams - $1.50

Permission to leave School
If you need to take your child out of school early you must first sign your child out at the office before you collect them from the classroom. Office staff will give you a yellow slip, which needs to be given to the classroom teacher before the child is released.         

Social Worker in School.
Our school social worker, Lynair Bergman, is available to meet with parents at school on Thursdays and Fridays. You can contact her on her mobile 027 225 8924 or visit her at school. Her office is located outside Rooms 3 and 4.
