5th July 2016

Just a reminder that school finishes for the term on Friday 8th July at 3pm. Term 3 begins on Monday 25th July at 9am.

Staff News
Mrs Simpson (Room 6) will be going on maternity leave at the end of the term and Mrs Jones will replace her as Room 6's class teacher until the end of the year.
We wish Mrs Simpson and her husband all the best for their arrival of their first child.

Student Led Conferences
These will be held for all children in week 2 of Term 3. Each appointment is 20 minutes long and it is important that your child attend these conferences with the classroom teacher.
Dates and times are as follows:
Wednesday 3rd August from 3.10pm to 7.30pm
Thursday 4th August from 1.40pm to 7.20pm

Teacher Only Day
There will a Teacher Only Day on Monday 22nd August, so the school will be closed on that day.

School Production
Our school production this year is Alice in Wonderland. It will be performed in the Waikowhai Intermediate School Hall on the following dates:
Wednesday 2nd November (Evening Performance)
Thursday 3rd November (Evening Performance)
Friday 4th November (Daytime Performance)
Further information regarding tickets will be sent home next term. We will also be sending out forms in the next few weeks, to see if any parents are able to support us with costumes and props.
Cash Payments
Just a reminder that Subway and Sushi money is handled by the suppliers. The school doesn't issue change, so please ensure that your child has the correct amount with their lunch order.

There are a growing number of students arriving at school late. School starts promptly at 9.00am and students need to be here before the 9.00am bell so they can organise themselves for the day.
In Term One and Term Four, all children are expected to wear a sunhat. Any child not wearing their sunhat will need to sit in shaded areas at morning tea and lunchtime.

Contact Details
It is important that we are able to contact parents/caregivers if your child is sick or injured. If your details have changed, please let the office know, so that we can update our records.

Breakfast in Schools
Breakfast club operates on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings. Breakfast will be served from 8am until 8.30am in the hall.

Walking School Bus
Don't forget the bus runs every day, starting at 8.30am (Dominion Rd Extn route) . The Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday route begins outside the Roskill South Kindergarten and travels along to Glass Rd (where the first stop is) and the second stop is on the corner of Quona Ave and Albrecht Ave, then onto the school entrance.
Friends of the School
We have a Friends of the School committee which is a group of parents who help out with fundraising and volunteering at the school. If you are interested in joining, please see Julie in the office.

Wednesday Subway Lunches
Subway envelopes are available from the office and orders are placed at the school office by 9am, Wednesday mornings. Please ensure that the correct amount of money is in the envelope.

Thursday Sushi Orders
The sushi lunch option is available on Thursdays. Orders are to be made with the class teacher before 9am.    
Sausage Sizzle
The Sausage sizzle is every Friday.
Sausages - $1.50 (includes bread, sauce and serviette)
Iceblocks / Icecreams - $1.50

Permission to leave School
If you need to take your child out of school early you must first sign your child out at the office before you collect them from the classroom. Office staff will give you a yellow slip, which needs to be given to the classroom teacher before the child is released.
