19th May 2015

Disco
Our Junior and Senior School Discos will be held this Friday evening (22nd May) in the school hall. The junior disco is to be held from 5.15pm to 6.15pm and the tickets are $3.00. The senior disco is from 6.30pm to 8.00pm and the tickets are $5.00. The tickets are available from the school office. All proceeds will be going towards the Year 5 and 6 camp.

2015 Camp Fundraiser Car Boot Sale
Thank you to all those who supported this event on Saturday 16th May. We raised $412.00 to go towards the Year 5 and 6 camp.

Chocolate Sales
Thanks to all the families who are selling the Whittaker Chocolate Bars as part of this year's camp fundraiser. The sales are going extremely well.

Education Review Office Report.
The ERO was on site at the beginning of November 2014, to review the school. The result of this visit was that the school received an excellent review . If you would like to read the report in full, click on the following link:

Drop Off Zone
Just a reminder that you cannot park and leave your car in the drop off zone outside the school office on the driveway. The school grounds are very congested at the beginning and end of the day and parents need to be able to pull up and drop off or pick up children safely.

Breakfast in Schools
Breakfast club operates on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Breakfast will be served from 8am until 8.30am in the hall.

Walking School Bus
Don't forget the bus runs every Monday and Wednesday, starting at 8.00am. The Monday route begins outside the Roskill South Kindergarten and travels along to Glass Rd (where the first stop is) and the second stop is on the corner of Quona Ave and Albrecht Ave, then onto the school entrance. The Wednesday route begins on the corner of McKinnon St and Morrie Laing Ave, then travels along Albrecht Ave, past the end of Halleys Place and finally walking up the backtrack.
                                                                                                                                       
Friends of the School
We have a Friends of the School committee which is a group of parents who help out with fundraising and volunteering at the school. Our next meeting is on Wednesday 20th May 2015 , 7.30pm. If you are interested in joining, please see Julie in the office.
      
Uniform
Our school uniform is available from the Warehouse in Mt Roskill - corner of May and Stoddard Rds. Our school is awarded points for purchase of our uniform from the Warehouse. Please quote our name when purchasing our uniform and we receive points that can be redeemed for school resources.

Sunhats
All children are required to wear a navy blue sunhat, outside in the summer terms (Term 1 and 4). Children without hats will need to sit in the junior shade house during break times and will not be able to participate in outside activities during classroom programmes until they have a hat to wear. Hats can be purchased from the school office for $10.00.

Wednesday Subway Lunches
Subway envelopes are available from the office and orders are placed at the school office by 9am, Wednesday mornings. Please ensure that the correct amount of money is in the envelope.    
                         
Sausage Sizzle
The Sausage sizzle is every Friday.
Sausages - $1.50 (includes bread, sauce and serviette)
Iceblocks / Icecreams - $1.50

Permission to leave School
If you need to take your child out of school early you must first sign your child out at the office before you collect them from the classroom. Office staff will give you a yellow slip, which needs to be given to the classroom teacher before the child is released.         

Social Worker in School.
Our school social worker, Lynair Bergman, is available to meet with parents at school on Thursdays and Fridays. You can contact her on her mobile 027 225 8924 or visit her at school. Her office is located outside Rooms 3 and 4.
