Athletics Day
Due to the inclement weather, Athletics Day has been postponed until Wednesday 5th November. It will be a full day event. The Friends of the School will be selling baking, coffee and tea during the day. You are most welcome to come along and watch your child compete in the days events.

Term 4 end date and Term 1 2015 start date
Last day of Term 4 is Wednesday 17th December and first day of Term 1 2015 is Wednesday 4th February.

2014 School Production - Wizard of Oz
A huge thank you to all those that made our production of the 'Wizard of Oz' an outstanding success. The children's performances were fabulous and everyone who attended, loved the show.

Roll Growth
To cater for the increase in our roll, we will be having two relocatable classrooms moved on site over the Christmas holidays. They will be ready for use for the 2015 school year. During 2015, four new permanent classrooms will be built and the aim is to have these completed by the beginning of the 2016 school year. The relocatable classrooms will be removed when these four classrooms are completed.

Breakfast in Schools
Breakfast club has resumed this week, operating on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Please remind your children to come to the hall between 8am and 8.30am, if they want breakfast.

Walking School Bus
Don't forget the bus runs every Monday, starting at 8.15am. The route begins outside the Roskill South Kindergarten and travels along to Glass Rd (where the first stop is) and the second stop is on the corner of Quona Ave and Albrecht Ave, then onto the school entrance.
Investing in Educational Success
The Governments announcement to invest $359 million dollars more into education earlier this year is currently a hot topic for discussion. Education Review Office Visit
As part of the regular review cycle, E.R.O visits schools every three years. The team will be in our school from Monday 10th November. Once the process has been completed, we will notify you of the findings.
Friends of the School
We have a Friends of the School committee which is a group of parents who help out with fundraising and volunteering at the school. The next meeting is Wednesday 29th October at 7.30pm. If you are interested in joining, please see Julie in the office.
Our school uniform is available from the Warehouse in Mt Roskill - corner of May and Stoddard Rds. Our school is awarded points for purchase of our uniform from the Warehouse. Please quote our name when purchasing our uniform and we receive points that can be redeemed for school resources.
2014 / 2015 Term Dates

All children are required to wear a navy blue sunhat, outside in the summer terms (Term 1 and 4). Children without hats will need to sit in the junior shade house during break times and will not be able to participate in outside activities during classroom programmes until they have a hat to wear. Hats can be purchased from the school office for $10.00.

Wednesday Subway Lunches
Subway envelopes are available from the office and orders are placed at the school office by 9am, Wednesday mornings. Please ensure that the correct amount of money is in the envelope.    
Sausage Sizzle
The Sausage sizzle is every Friday.
Sausages - $1.50 (includes bread, sauce and serviette)
Iceblocks / Icecreams - $1.50

Permission to leave School
If you need to take your child out of school early you must first sign your child out at the office before you collect them from the classroom. Office staff will give you a yellow slip, which needs to be given to the classroom teacher before the child is released.         

Social Worker in School.
Our school social worker, Lynair Bergman, is available to meet with parents at school on Thursdays and Fridays. You can contact her on her mobile 027 225 8924 or visit her at school. Her office is located outside Rooms 3 and 4.
