It's a Boy!!
Congratulations to Mr Matthew Riceman who became a first time father on Tuesday 19th August. Welcomed a baby boy - James Blake Riceman. All healthy and well.

Walking School Bus
Don't forget the bus runs every Monday, starting at 8.15am. The route begins outside the Roskill South Kindergarten and travel along Glass Rd and Albrecht Ave to the school entrance.

Teacher Only Day
The school will be closed for a Teacher Only Day on Monday 25th August as teachers will be involved in professional development on that day.

School Cross Country
This will held next Wednesday (27th August). Children will need spare clothes to run in. The 'Friends of the School' committee will run a sausage sizzle and sell baking on the day.

Good News Story....
We would like to thank Valma Miller at Numberworks Three Kings who has kindly bought the school a Apple Mini Mac to replace the one that was stolen from Room 4, a couple of weeks ago.

Art Festival
In week 8 (starting 8th September), we will be celebrating the visual arts with an Art Festival. All children will produce a piece of artwork this term, which will be then displayed at the festival. The festival launch will take place on the evening of Tuesday 9th September in the school hall.

2014 School Production
This year's school production is the 'Wizard of Oz' and will be held over 2 nights on October 22nd and 23rd, at the Waikohwai Intermediate School Hall.

Netball results from Saturday 9th August:

Prizegiving will be held on the 6th September at the Mt Roskill Intermediate School Hall.

Friends of the School
We have a Friends of the School committee which is a group of parents who help out with fundraising and volunteering at the school. If you are interested in joining, please see Julie in the office.
Our school uniform is available from the Warehouse in Mt Roskill - corner of May and Stoddard Rds. Our school is awarded points for purchase of our uniform from the Warehouse. Please quote our name when purchasing our uniform and we receive points that can be redeemed for school resources.
2014 Term Dates

All children are required to wear a navy blue sunhat, outside in the summer terms (Term 1 and 4). Children without hats will need to sit in the junior shade house during break times and will not be able to participate in outside activities during classroom programmes until they have a hat to wear. Hats can be purchased from the school office for $10.00.

Wednesday Subway Lunches
Subway envelopes are available from the office and orders are placed at the school office by 9am, Wednesday mornings. Please ensure that the correct amount of money is in the envelope.    
Sausage Sizzle
The Sausage sizzle is every Friday.
Sausages - $1.50 (includes bread, sauce and serviette)
Iceblocks / Icecreams - $1.50

Permission to leave School
If you need to take your child out of school early you must first sign your child out at the office before you collect them from the classroom. Office staff will give you a yellow slip, which needs to be given to the classroom teacher before the child is released.         

Social Worker in School.
Our school social worker, Lynair Bergman, is available to meet with parents at school on Thursdays and Fridays. You can contact her on her mobile 027 225 8924 or visit her at school. Her office is located outside Rooms 3 and 4.
