2014 General election
The school hall will be open for voting this Saturday 20th September between 9.00am and 7.00pm. Gates will be open if you wish to park on the courts in front of the hall.

Breakfast in Schools
Breakfast club has resumed this week, operating on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Please remind your children to come to the hall between 8am and 8.30am, if they want breakfast.

Walking School Bus
Don't forget the bus runs every Monday, starting at 8.15am. The route begins outside the Roskill South Kindergarten and travels along Glass Rd and Albrecht Ave to the school entrance.

Art Festival
Thanks to all those that supported the Art Festival and Book Fair last week. Thanks also, to Displayworks for the use of the panels to display our work on, The Warehouse on Stoddard Rd for lending us the plants and the Friends of the School Group who manned the refreshment table and the book fair. We sold $2281.00 worth of books over the three days, which means Miss Lane and Mrs Law were able to choose $680.00 worth of books for our Library!

The Governments announcement to invest $359 million dollars more into education earlier this year is currently a hot topic for discussion. 2014 School Production
This year's school production is the 'Wizard of Oz' and will be held over 2 nights on October 22nd and 23rd, at the Waikowhai Intermediate School Hall.
Netball Champs
Congratulations to our Netball Team who received three awards at the Three Kings Netball Prizegiving last Saturday. They came runner up in the A grade in the first round, won the Championship A grade round and won the best Goaling Average Trophy! Also, congratulations to Sylvia Brunt who received the Good Sportsmanship Award for our team.
A BIG thank you has to go to Nicola Siulepa who coached our girls this season, Dianne MacKenzie and Judy Hayter for refereeing and Rachel Ireland for being our committee member. Also, thanks to all the parents and family members who came along on Saturdays and supported our girls, we are all very proud of them.

Friends of the School
We have a Friends of the School committee which is a group of parents who help out with fundraising and volunteering at the school. The next meeting is Wednesday 29th October at 7.30pm. If you are interested in joining, please see Julie in the office.
Our school uniform is available from the Warehouse in Mt Roskill - corner of May and Stoddard Rds. Our school is awarded points for purchase of our uniform from the Warehouse. Please quote our name when purchasing our uniform and we receive points that can be redeemed for school resources.

All children are required to wear a navy blue sunhat, outside in the summer terms (Term 1 and 4). Children without hats will need to sit in the junior shade house during break times and will not be able to participate in outside activities during classroom programmes until they have a hat to wear. Hats can be purchased from the school office for $10.00.

Wednesday Subway Lunches
Subway envelopes are available from the office and orders are placed at the school office by 9am, Wednesday mornings. Please ensure that the correct amount of money is in the envelope.    
Sausage Sizzle
The Sausage sizzle is every Friday.
Sausages - $1.50 (includes bread, sauce and serviette)
Iceblocks / Icecreams - $1.50

Permission to leave School
If you need to take your child out of school early you must first sign your child out at the office before you collect them from the classroom. Office staff will give you a yellow slip, which needs to be given to the classroom teacher before the child is released.         

Social Worker in School.
Our school social worker, Lynair Bergman, is available to meet with parents at school on Thursdays and Fridays. You can contact her on her mobile 027 225 8924 or visit her at school. Her office is located outside Rooms 3 and 4.
